Project Overview

Buffalo Engineering provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services for the new $14 million, 55,00 SF animal shelter with adoption areas for dogs and cats, treatment and surgery rooms, isolation spaces, crematorium, pharmacy, stray intake areas, staff offices, conference rooms and retail space. The design incorporated high air-change systems to control odors, energy recovery units to improve efficiency and reduce life-cycle costs and a radiant in-floor heating system to enhance animal comfort. The project also included an intake barn (separate structure), a stand-alone barn for farm animals and a wildlife enclosure for rehabilitation.
