Project Overview

Buffalo Engineering, P.C. provided the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering and design services for the renovation and addition to 907 Michigan Ave. The project scope consisted of renovation to an existing single-family residence and the design of a 2,280 square foot addition including an exterior events space and adjacent parking lot.

The center features office space, a large conference room, and a community resource area providing public access to computers. The center house allows for education programs, financial wellness programming and a free space for community gatherings. The community room holds workshops, classes, trainings, meetings and events that provide community members the opportunity to connect, learn and promote health and wellness.

An outdoor garden enhances the space, offering a welcoming environment for visitors. A key aspect of the project was the preservation and restoration of a historic home built in 1878. A newly constructed wing seamlessly integrates modern design with history, incorporating floor-to-ceiling glass and a window-lined corridor that connects the old and new structures.
