Project Overview

Buffalo Engineering provided engineering services for Phase 2, 3, and 4 of the $8 million 2018 Renovations Vision 20/20.

Phase 2
Created a new 300-seat aquatic center at the Alden CSD high school. The new natatorium has eight lanes for swimming competitions, two diving boards, and an ADA-accessible ramp. The project also included renovations to the existing locker rooms, associated MEP improvements, and the addition of public restrooms and a new entrance to the building.

Phase 3
Included infrastructure upgrades at the Elementary, Middle, and High schools. The Middle School upgrades involved the addition of new science classrooms for students.

Phase 4
Consisted of upgrades the High School boiler plant including replacement of the existing boilers and removal of the Co-generation plant.

Buffalo Engineering also provided MEP engineering services for the district’s Energy Performance Contract. The energy efficiency measures included lighting upgrades, high-efficiency boilers, building automation upgrades on HVAC equipment, and vending machine occupancy controls.
